I chose the theme ‘ Othe People can Also be Right ‘ for I believe that if we are to truly construct the global citizen anywhere, we would need to overcome the challenges that pervade the world today; the simplistic values and beliefs that one gets exposed to, what we see and read, hear and listen to in the mainstream media ; namely, zenophobia, prejudice, bigotry and ethnocentrism, for these ideas have a potential to undermine the basic principles of tolerance and respect for the other that most educators expouse.
