It is suggested that the qualities of good teaching are mirrored on the qualities that we want in our students and the skills that they learn and acquire. This is potentially at its most true when it comes to the teaching of Theory of Knowledge (TOK) in the IB Diploma Programme. This is a core part of the programme which must be undertaken by all students in order to complete the Diploma. It is seen as a core concept of IB because of the skills and qualities that it helps students gain. These skills are important across all subjects and hence the idea that students will be able to apply what they learn in TOK to other subjects in the Diploma and the wider world.
