Abstract:

In 2011, the International Baccalaureate began an extensive review of its Middle Years Programme (‘MYP: Next chapter’). The programme has undergone significant change in its curriculum framework, as examined in the first article in this series (Harrison, 2015). The revised MYP more clearly specifies its concept-driven curriculum, focuses attention on global contexts that develop international mindedness, raises the importance of learning skills, and articulates a consistent and research-based understanding of inter-disciplinarity.
