*ISJ November 2015: Evolving the IB Middle Years Programme Part two – school structures, implementation and impact research

Robert Harrison, Erin Albright & Sarah Manlove

In 2011, the International Baccalaureate began an extensive review of its Middle Years Programme (‘MYP: Next chapter’). The programme has undergone significant change in its curriculum framework, as examined in the first article in this series (Harrison, 2015). The revised MYP more clearly specifies its concept-driven curriculum, focuses attention on global contexts that develop international mindedness, raises the importance of learning skills, and articulates a consistent and research-based understanding of inter-disciplinarity.
