ISJ May 2020: Obituary: David Sutcliffe and Colin Jenkins

Almost twenty years ago George Walker, then IB Director General, addressed the Heads’ Conference saying that, for international education, the age of heroes had ended. In David Sutcliffe and Colin Jenkins, the close of last year saw the death of two of the most influential people of that age. It took more than vision in the early days of the IB and the UWC movement to dedicate one’s professional life to the development of international education. It required a string courage, for it’s future was uncertain. Both David and Colin had that necessary belief and boldness in abundance.
