Abstract:

I had already been teaching French for a while when international schools began implementing ‘one-to-one’ laptop programs. As soon as students started bringing their laptops to class, I realized I had to adapt. I stopped being the ‘guru’ of the language and started playing around with how I could integrate technology and all the best practices into the curriculum, to enhance the learning by helping students ask the questions What do I need to learn?, Where can I find the correct information?, How do I analyse, understand and learn the information?, How do I make connections with previous knowledge, to create sentences that are relevant to me, so I can communicate effectively? and finally, How can I teach this to someone else?
